Program Description
American University’s Washington Community of Scholars offers rising junior and senior high school students the opportunity to take rigorous three-credit college classes taught by highly regarded members of the AU faculty. These classes, ranging from international relations and U.S. foreign policy, to criminal justice and journalism, are complemented with guest speakers, site visits to such places as the State Department, and afternoon workshops designed to build college and career skills. Small, seminar-style classes enable professors to challenge and encourage the potential of each student.
