ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE SUMMER ACADAMY
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
St. John's College Summer Academy is a residential, pre-college program for 15 to 18 year olds that nurtures critical thinking and personal growth.
Organized in week-long sessions, each session is designed around a specific theme that explores weighty questions and ideas. Stay for one or more weeks!
How can one know oneself? What law governs human beings? At the Summer Academy students investigate these and other questions by reading works written by the greatest thinkers of Western culture and talking about their ideas in discussion-based classes taught by college faculty.
Students also participate in an eclectic array of workshops-from poetry writing to archery to swing dance-and enjoy off-campus excursions to museums and historic sites. As described by a 2016 participant, the Summer Academy "nourishes the mind, body, and soul."
Participating in the Summer Academy provides a great introduction to St. John's renowned education, to college life, and to the intellectual freedom that can be realized at liberal arts colleges.
